RETHINKING BUSINESS

The groundbreaking MBA in Design Strategy at California College of the Arts prepares the next generation of innovation leaders for a profitable, sustainable, ethical, and meaningful world.

This unique program unites the perspectives of design and integrative thinking, sustainability and systems thinking, finance, entrepreneurship, and generative leadership into a holistic strategic framework.

Students learn not only how to create innovative products, services, and policy, but also how to help organizations develop new business models for the future.

Boomerrang

Boomerrang is a two sided marketplace that connects “SuperLearners”, people who want to learn something, with “SuperBoomers”, a network of qualified and background checked individuals, who have the time, skills and passion needed to teach other people. The focus is on connecting people who live in close proximity to each other, and creating neighborhoods of learning all across the country.

Elemental

Experiential Concept: Elemental is a place that invites visitors to stop and indulge in the senses. Using scent as the discovery door, visitors explored the elements through a wide range of scents and traveled into their sensorial emotions, memories or reflections. We leveraged the power of scent and memory to bring people into the moment, to feel alive through the senses.

I'm Here

I’m Here is a public service cultural sustainability project who's mission is to provide people the opportunity to record, share and preserve the stories of their lives in San Francisco through our digital mapping project. We do this to build and strengthen connections between people and place, and to weave into the fabric of our city the understanding that everyone’s story matters. Each resident’s footprint is an integral part of the San Francisco ecosystem. Social and cultural sustainability are just as important as environmental sustainability in creating livable cities. By capturing diverse stories we want to highlight the rich urban experience worth sustaining, voice by voice. We organize stories by locations plotted onto our map.

Jack Mobile

Jack Mobile's  business model validation process included creating value through tested recommendations on how to position the business for generative growth opportunities. The process included user interviews across national and international geographies. Three product-market fit concepts were developed into ten prototypes that were used to seek detailed user feedback. Our recommendations are based on these user-centered interviews, concept prototypes, and rigorous product-market fit testing.

LOOP

LOOP is a product that redirects personal user data back to those individuals in the form of a revenue stream. Working with the assumption that users should benefit from their own data, rather than corporations, the product intercepts data flows into "loops" based on popular themes, creating meaningful revenue streams through aggregate pooling.
